Mac freeware?

I have Scala on my WinXP machine, but would like to share it with my theory
teacher. I gave him a zip disk with the Mac version yesterday, but I don't know
if he'll be able to install it, it doesn't look like the Mac version has received
much attention. Anyone know any good programs for Mac offhand?
