I am interested to see that "new" ragas are being described on the list in terms of Alpha note names.
There is a much less alpha-centric method of codifying scales, which was devised more than ten years ago, during discussions with John Gibbon, Jonathan Glasier, and myself. This scalecoding works perfectly for any 5L+2s tuning system e.g. meantone, Phythag, many ntET and other systems.
It would be more suitable for this purpose, as it will also give immediate numerical insights into the "connections" with other modes, megamodes, and scales.

Hello, thanks for the reference. I will read it carefully to see how the optional system suits the Indian microtonal music.

Haresh.
