<snip of good stuff for brevity>

One 'interesting' feature of the scale I
listed is that in one key, the neutral third
(11/9) is used as minor and in another the
neutral third is used as major. Your proposal
makes all the major thirds either 5/4 or 9/7,
and in general seems to be more consistent in
geting at the seven limit core of the thing
(only one small second, one neutral third).
And it spreads out the large fifths rather
than clumping them together.

I'll plug it in tonight! Are the mode
listings automated in any way?

thanks,

Bob Valentine

Hi Robert,

It may very well be that you'll find your original 12 to be much more
to your liking than the example I gave - and I'd have to say that from
my experience, the ear is always the best arbiter, no matter how right
or wrong a tuning scenario looks, anyway... The example I gave was
just one way of perhaps looking at your 12 as nearer to a full set of
('logical...') tetrads, while still retaining the ('wrong...') 16/31.

Good luck,
Dan
