i don't know why he bothers to put the decimal
part of KOMA UZAKLIGI, since 53edo represents
all of the ratios so well that integers would
be close enough.

the 17-tone pattern in 53edo-degrees is:

4 4 1 4 4 1 4 4 4 1 4 4 1 4 4 4 1

thanks for the reference. i should make a
webpage out of this.

on tuning-math a while back, i gave names for several omnitetrachordal
scales, including pajara, injera, etc. . . . this 17-tone scale (or at
least its pattern of small and large steps), i called "ankara" . . .

this is beautiful -- i think i always skipped over that one before.

other omnitetrachordal systems include 10-tone and 14-tone ones,
typically involving the vanishing of the 50:49 . . . and of course
you have 19-of-meantone . . .

dave keenan and i once stumbled on an omnitetrachordal 22-tone scale
with *3* step sizes. such beasts seem to be rare and should be sought
out!
