Golden horagram pages revisited

Greetings, fellow tuners!

Glad to see there's still a healthy pace of discussion here. It's
been quite a while since I devoted any time to online discussions,
here or almost anywhere else. However, I have lurked here from time
to time.

Recently, I've been hacking away at my Golden Horagram pages, which
were begun in the fall of 2001, and discussed heavily here at that
time.

http://www.elvenminstrel.com/music/tuning/horagrams/horagram_intro.htm

All pages are complete now with the exception of musical examples,
which should be forthcoming over the next several weeks. Numerous
corrections and additions have been made since I last posted. The
site provides fairly in-depth analysis of Erv Wilson's golden
horagrams of the scale tree, with an emphasis on 5- to 9-tone scales
in the first 32 horagrams.

These are MOS scales generated by the convergence of pairs of equal
tempered generators via the irrational number Phi. Thus, they are
neither ET, nor Just, nor arbitrary. They manage to be at once
exotic and, in some sense, natural sounding. Quite remarkable,I
think.

Excellent David!
I wish Erv had a computer to see this. Also you presentation has something that is sadly
missing from the subject HUMOR
it really makes the reading much easier. I will look through it in more detail. I have small
copies of the next 32 Horagrams but i thing Erv might have large size ones, either way I'll Let
you know!

David,

Great job on these pages! I'm both impressed and inspired, as it usually takes more than raw numbers to shed light on some of these issues for me. The text is very clearly done, and the humor is appreciated, but I especially like the care you've put into the images - reminds me of the work (and aesthetic) of Edward Tufte:

You've got my juices flowing!

Cheers,
Jon

Thanks, Kraig, Jon, andΒ—I'm guessing wallyesterpaulrus is Paul
E.?Β—for the encouraging words! It has indeed been too long. Life
gets a little tangled sometimes, you know.
