Tyranny of Twelve

Hi Graham,

I have to disagree with every point you tried to make. I won't go on at
length here on the list, but for every argument you propose /for/ I can
find at least three against.

MIDI is the tyrrany of twelve. If you want to make music: all the SW is
stacked against the microtonalist. Not /one/ commercial product includes
microtonal support as an /inherent/ component of the possibilities for
music making. Add-ons that some provide are second-rate, friday jobs, not
worth the characters they're written with.

And so on...

I really can't waste my time explaining - there are plenty on this list who
know the /real/ position. Anything else is just self-delusion.

It's like being told that a dog can walk on its hind legs - I'm not
suprised it can be done, but would be suprised that it can be done well.

And I see no dogs walking well.

why don't you check out the MakeMicroMusic list (also yahoo). try
making this statement there, and you'll get plenty of suggestions,
often directly from the creators of these products.

i just saw a video of a little dog running down a flight of stairs on
its *front* legs only -- truly bizarre. stranger things you will find
if you just take the time to look.
