Reminds me a lot of the opening sentence in Schoenberg's
preface to his _Harmonielehre_: 'This book I have learned
from my students.'.

I too find it very true that explaining difficult concepts
to others helps make them clearer in my own mind, and when
explaining a previous topic again to someone else, I often
find new angles that extrapolate off into other directions.
