In this latest installment of Zeitgeist's Lowertown Listening
Sessions, Special Guest speaker Philip Blackburn of the American
Composers Forum will lead an insightful and entertaining discussion
about one of America's most revered experimentalists, Harry Partch.
With a plenty of audio, video, and even touchable samples,
participants will get an in-depth look into an amazing and beguiling
figure whose unique musical journey has inspired countless other
creative artists.

Zeitgeist's Lowertown Listening Sessions, held monthly at Zeitgeist's
studio, is a series of informal and intimate events designed to
demystify contemporary music and deepen the listening skills of
participants. Through this series, the ensemble and our audience
explore new works-in-progress, works from our repertoire, and various
trends and issues in new music.

Good on you! Philip Blackburn not only knows Partch in a pretty deep way, but he has developed a presentation that is really very wonderful. I've worked with him on a number of occasions and assisted a couple of times in his lecture/demonstrations, and anyone who attends is in for a very special evening.
