Why are you specifically interested in Partch's tuning
as the tuning grows out of how the instruments are built and played.
Possibly coming up with your own tuning matching the instruments
you will actually be using might be more fruitful.

Jon-
Even the diamond does not contain all the 43 pitches ( this was probably just a slip) . The added pitches fill out a 41 tone space with two duplicates.
Something Erv noticed by working with him and pointed out to Harry how he would use things that fit this context. ONe has only to look at the mapping of his scale over a 41 tone and it all fits.

Yep - old age. I was mentally viewing the percussion instruments (since the question was about "pads") and mis-remembered the layout of the bars on the DM. And, of course, the Chromelodeon would contain all the pitchs, but then you would just use any old kbd controller if you were doing synth versions, not "pads".

Sigh. I may not be an elitist, but I am slowly aging. Time to hop on my skateboard again!

Cheers,
Jon

Yea!
I took the original inquiry to be about what anyone could have/would have/might have tried to do to accomplish a visual presention via MIDI triggers to resemble a DM, or a Boo, or a Quandrangularis Reversum, etc., or a Bass Marimba, such that the plan would be based on people striking MIDI bars positioned strategecially to achieve the effect of dancers playing the music as they dance. Just a guess...
