if anyone believes it pays to be up-to-date on the latest
psychoacoustics, let them go read this 52-page paper

Attention Kraig and all Boomsliter & Creel followers... this
paper should be of interest.

yes, this paper should be of interest to anyone who wants a sense of
what is "state of the art" in psychoacoustics -- both
the "conventional" view and the periodicity-oriented alternative that
cariani supports. it might be good to supplement it with a few of the
references, such as parncutt, to get a sense of what some of
cariani's remarks really mean . . . in any case, this paper alone
should be excellent medicine for anyone whose head was warped on the
crazy-music list . . .

cariani's name was first brought to my attention in a bizarre and
surreal conversation with a reputed physics professor, who, after
hours and hours of summarizing the history of 20th century physics
(which i already knew, except for his reputed involvement), had to
set up a second, brief meeting with me to move on to cariani's
theories, dolphin consciousness, and superconducting quantum
interference devices . . . meanwhile a mutual friend tried to squeeze
$$$$$ out of me on the "professor's" behalf . . . needless to say, i
thought the guy was a nut, and didn't really look into cariani until
martin braun endorsed his work on the specmus list . . .

There is some pseudo-science-sounding stuff towards the bottom of
Cariani's home page... Kondratieff waves, and what not...

Gene mentioned specmus, but I couldn't find it on yahoo. But,
there it is. Is this Daniel Wolf's list?

Great thanks Carl!
I've printed out a copy to go run over to Erv!
