HI there,

My piece in the eight sevens -> 4/pi MOS
is now up at

http://mp3.com.au/RobertWalker/Seventopi/

A bit of info there and I've posted about it to
MakeMicroMusic.

Neat, though the volume was a little low. If the thing which looks like a meantone fifth actually is, this becomes a tuning of the
99/98^81/80^385/385 = h26^h31 11-limit linear temperament, in which case tuning it to 31-et values would be a reasonable option.

Hi Gene,

The fifth is 512/343. I suppose somewhere in the region
of quarter comma meantone fifth at 696.58

512/343 = 693.52

However the scale is generated using the 7/4.

The meantone pattern of steps for this size of
fifth is

L S L L S L S L S L L S

and the harmonic seventh generated MOS is

L S L S L S L S L S S (eleven notes instead of twelve)

The small step is also a bit smaller at 44.13
instead of 76.05, and the large step a bit larger
at 187.04 instead of 187.04.

Yes, the recording is a bit quiet, quieter than they usually
are - probably recorded it at half volume. Something to look
out for, thanks.
