vibrato, the big "cover up"

As it turns out, the violist playing my "hyper" microtonal piece is
now enjoying it tremendously. She almost *dropped out* in the early
stages.

Vibrato, apparently, covers up a *multitude* of sins, like the
importance of playing with the bow on particular parts of strings in
order to produce a *musical* straight tone.

So, a microtonal work which requires *no* vibrato turns out to be a
quite valuable way of practicing.

This aside from the fact that she claims her perceptual acuity of
pitch has been improved by practicing this piece.

So there are lots of *benefits* for traditional players to practice
microtonal works...
