This is in response to your enquiry about "adjustable straight frets".

I do remember finding something about twelve years ago, a system of slotted frets, which could be pushed in and raised.
As far as I remember it was very complicated and required a series of levers and locks to push the frets into the playing position.
Sorry, forgotten the source now (This was pre-web days).

Charles Lucy, you're right. People could have their
straight-across frets wherever they wanted using my
interchangeable fretboards, and they could have as
many different layouts of straight-across frets as
they wanted, one layout per interchangeable fretboard.
