Stuart Isacoff is editor of the magazine Piano Today and
author of Temperament: The Idea That Solved Music's
Greatest Riddle (Knopf). He will be presenting a program
that collapses the musical boundaries between classical music
and jazz, with piano improvisations that will explore the connections
between Messiaen and Wayne Shorter, Scriabin and Harold
Arlen, Scarlatti and Jerome Kern, Hindemith and Thelonious Monk, and others.
