This Friday night at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge,
the
MIT Mars Society will host a party for "Yuri's Night 2002," an
international
event commemorating the 1961 launch of Yuri Gagarin, the first human in
space. Admission is FREE, and live music will be provided by microtonal
pro-space pop band, ZIA <http://www.ziaspace.com>. More info is listed
below, but check out <http://whereis.mit.edu/bin/map?locate=bldg_4> for a
map. After the party, if the weather permits, interested individuals
will
have the opportunity to go stargazing at MIT's Wallace Observatory
<http://web.mit.edu/wallace> in Westford, MA.

Friday, 4/12 at MIT (Bldg. 4, Rm. 153, 77 Mass. Ave., Cambridge): "Yuri's
Night 2002 Party" w/ ZIA (8:30-11pm, free, all ages

the event has been moved:

Tonight's "Yuri's Night 2002" party at MIT has been RELOCATED! The
MIT Mars Society will now be hosting this event at MIT's Thirty Ear
Pub, in the basement of the H-shaped building on the west corner of
Memorial Drive and Mass. Ave. Admission is still free, and live
music will still be provided by ZIA. But those of you who like to
have a few pops with your microtonal pop music will now appreciate
the fact that alcohol is going to be available. (This may, however,
have an adverse effect on those who were planning to go stargazing
afterwards.) More info is listed below, but check out
<http://web.mit.edu/thirsty-ear/ear-map.gif> for a map.
