hi-

I downloaded the current scala, but when i click on sound settings, either
in the menu or in the chromatic clavier window, the program quits. Am I
doing something wrong?

Hi Dante,

It must be a bug. Can you tell me
- which midi devices you have installed
- which Windows version
- whether you get sound or midi output at all

The default output device is the one after "Microsoft
midi mapper", does it work?

I have an Audigy sound blaster card (platinum)

- which Windows version

XP

- whether you get sound or midi output at all

at first, on the chromatic keyboard only the "c" notes sounded, but all at
the same pitch (no octaves). Then, when I opened the megamid program, it
first came up with a midi setup window and after "ok"ing that, now the
output in scala seems to work, so it must have set it. Still, the program
quits if i try to access the sound setup fuction from anywhere within scala.

The default output device is the one after "Microsoft
midi mapper", does it work?

after what where?

Maybe you're the first to do this under XP.
I see that Megamid doesn't list the midi mapper, but
can you tell me which output devices you can
choose in Megamid after you click the Setup-button?
Thanks,

Manuel

I get:

SB Audigy Synth A (D800)
SB Audigy Sw Synth (D800)
SB Audigy Synth B (D800)
SB Audigy MIDI Port (D800)
SB Audigy MIDI Port II (D800)
Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth

Dante,

I've found the problem, my mistake. Sorry about that.
If you download and install again it's likely to be solved.

Manuel-

Yes, I reinstalled and now I can access the sound settings ok! That was a
quick fix. I wonder how much commericial software would be bugfixed in one
day!!!! Scala is now XP friendly.

BTW, this program is AWESOME!!

Thanks

Dante
