I am enjoying the JI ambient sounds.

If you are determined to define this flawed paradigm, why not use JI for all integer ratio based tuning systems, and if you want to set a limit, give it an integer.

Because I use RI (= "rational intonation") for that,
and it's been adopted by several others here too.

... because it is possible to construct a tuning from ratios
which does not exhibit the audible characteristics of JI.

The Hammond Organ is an excellent example of this: a
rational tuning which is audibly indistinguishable from 12-EDO.

JI is a subset of RI.
