Unfortunately, it's a Mac only program.

ASIO, necessitating a separate sound card or computer. It is also
pretty "macho" as a programming language and environment. However
SuperCollider 3 allows plugin development so perhaps we will begin to
see, like with Pluggos (MSP) some easier to use applications.
For myself it is one of those tools that I own because it seems real
promising and keep hoping one ugrade will finally bring a product
that integrates into the rest of my studio :-)

Theres all sorts of plugins that will be developed soon(not sure what
exactly). Not sure what you mean about not being compatible with protools.
You can definately record sound files to put into protools or whatever other
program you want. Also you dont have to use ASIO, you can use sound manager(i
do). You also dont need a seperate sound card or computer, I have neither. I
use it in conjunction with the rest of my studio without any problem
actually(except I cant get this USB interface I have to work properly but I
think its a problem with my device).

However your definately right it is sometimes hard to use(you said macho).
The documentations not perfect and sometimes hard to understand (at ;least
for me) and not everything is documented. In general someone mentioned Csound
and I was just suggesting theres other stuff in case someone didn't know ...
but I guess they do. :)

Cheers,

Andy
