a crazy cool use of alternate acoustic tunings

recently saw a guy, mike errico, playing acoustic guitar on his lap,
in some alt tuning (some version of DADGAD I think), but playing
beats on the body of the guitar and then smacking harmonics on the
fretboard...the result was really full and ringy, but also funky,
like G.Love or something. Not really Michael Hedges, but something
different (www.errico.com has some mp3s).

Anyone seen this guy on the east coast?
