I had never heard of these people until a couple of weeks ago. Not
microtonal, but very creative:

Naked City
Mr. Bungle
Mike Patton
Fantomas

Mike Patton is a member of Mr. Bungle, isn't he? I love that band.

He was, and has done a number of solo projects and some with other
folks. A very inventive vocalist.
