HTML/Yahoo Solution

Thanks to Pierre's input, and a bit of luck, this (HTML) authoring technique covers those who want to continue to "lattice", have an HTML authoring email program (I used Eudora, but so is Communicator and Outlook, I think...), and don't mind adding a little color to their diagrams (of all sorts), just switch back to black (as a text color) when you have added your colored diagram, and have more to write.

Setting up a (non-black) color prior to making the diagram works for sure:
