HEWM?

Monz, apparently the HEWM notation system traces it roots to Eitz in
1891 and still further back to Hauptmann.

Monz, have you downloaded Dave Benson's Course Notes yet? You really
should!

Benson, on his p. 116 and 117, describes Eitz's notation. Yes
indeed, my "HEWM" notation is very much based on Eitz's idea,
because I was already familiar with it from its use by both
Helmholtz and Barbour.
