Death of Grady Martin

For all of you guitar afficinados, we lost a Maestro last week in
Grady Martin, long time Nashville mainstay. He played on Marty Robbins's
series of "Gunfighter" albums, some of the best Western music ever
recorded, Roy Orbison's "Pretty Woman," and thousands more. They
interviewed (on NPR) Bob Moore, a bassist and long time friend of
Martin's; Moore said that he, himself, has played on 17,000/18,000
sessions (holy shit!), so I figure Martin did a few as well. It's been a
bad year for guitarists; we've lost Chet Atkins, George Harrison, Roy
Nichols (Merle Haggard's long time compadre), and now Martin...all very
good players, and huge presences on the popular music scene...Hstick
