Could someone please describe the algorithm used for finding
superparticular divisions of a given ratio?

For some reason I couldn't access David Canright's pages about
superparticular pentatonics where this is described.

Kalle,

You can do this with Scala using the DIVIDE command, see
http://www.xs4all.nl/~huygensf/scala/help.htm#DIVIDE
I've posted the algorithm before, around 1 June 1995.
Could send it to you if you still need it.

Forgot to mention, David Canright's pages were moved,
see http://www.xs4all.nl/~huygensf/doc/bib.html

Thanks a lot Manuel!

I have used the DIVIDE command of Scala. I just needed the algorithm
for one of my computer programs. I've got it now from David
Canright's pages. Thanks again!
