The Tuning Secret Handshake

So, Paul E wrote out a series of ratios that approximate 350 cents,
and Dan Stearns corrected him, and I pulled out my calculator.

Me and about 600 other list members. ;->

I sent an off-list message to Dan, mentioning 38/31, about 5 seconds
before reading his quick follow-up post, mentioning 38/31, and also
before reading several other posts, mentioning... well, we all had our
calculators out.

So this is it: our Secret Handshake. When we meet someone who might be
another tuning fanatic, or might just be _pretending_ to be a tuning
fanatic, we can squint our eyes suspiciously, then toss out a figure in
cents, and the questionable person must pore furiously over his/her
calculator or program, and blurt back a series of ratios as quickly as
possible. If the answer is satisfactory, the handshake is complete,
subject of course to the reverse test being applied.

Now we can quickly recognize each other in any crowd! ;->

Umm... I think that "strange-sounding" ("xenharmonic", get it?)
music we listen to gives it away a little quicker. :)
