Might this formula be some monstrous beast composed of RMS
influenced by max/abs influenced by n+d influenced by
Harmonic Entropy influenced by Sethares dissonance,
etc. etc. etc. ??

Scientists and mathematicians to the rescue, please!!!

This is what I am on about. I believe that anything that I would call
music does have a very clear "virtual fundamental" present. This is not
only related to a single chord but may related to a bar or a passage or
for simple music to the whole piece. It is measurable and quantifiable
and that is one of the fundamental (oops pun) aspects of my AJI idea.

See http://www.kcbbs.gen.nz/users/rtomes/aji-main.htm again and in
particular the two worked examples at the end. These examples work on a
simple rule but also show how slightly more complex rules would pick up
a couple of ambiguous cases. I can post the tables to the list if
desired, but they are quite large and might not format well.
