IIRC, the work of John Whitney, Sr, Jordan Belson, Thomas Wilfred and
others who have composer color music, abstract films, etc. have been
mentioned on this list. I saw this today on the internet and thought to
pass it on:
Belson worked with Partch, the Whitney's also invented "Pendulum Music"
and knew
Ivor Darreg.

"Color Music," "Visual Music," "MusiColor,"
"Mobilcolor," "Lumia," "Absolute Film," "Video Synthesis,"
"Image Processing," "Abstract Animation,"...

...many different names for a single genre.
The iotaCenter is a non-profit organization dedicated
to preserving, promoting and celebrating the art of
abstraction in the moving image in all its many forms
and under all its various names.

The iotaCenter's Research Library in Los Angeles
houses one of the world's largest collection of materials
devoted to abstraction in film, video, performance,
installation and computer-animated art. Its website is
the neighborhood center for a growing worldwide community
of artists, writers, scholars and supporters involved in
this art form.
