WWIII

Tuning folk,

Please stop thinking about tuning and go stock up
on bottled water and canned food.

WWIII has begun, for those of you without TV sets.

It's a Tom Clancy scenario which is all too real, but it isn't WWIII,
and it's up to us to make sure that doesn't happen.

Ditto, Gene! The WWIII reaction is exactly the kind of mental state
the perpetrators of these events wish to stimulate in our society.
Let us not capitulate to their desires so easily.

With tens of thousands brutally killed, India as a country has been
at the receiving end of terrorists and we know too well how it must
feel to all of us free citizens of the World. Our heart goes out to
the injured and the dead and their families. We share the grief and
sorrow.

We pray to the Almighty that the World's two largest democracies will
solidly unite against all such evil forces and wipe them out to make
this World a better place.

We further pray that this brutal attack will bring India and the U.S.
in 3:2, or at least 4:3 relations.

Words cannot adequately describe my feelings during these strange days. As a
transplanted New Yorker (now in NH) with many friends and family still
living in the city, I feel truly blessed that my family and friends are
alive (so far as I know at present). I feel great compassion for everyone
whose families and friends didn't survive.

During the last two days of teaching music, preparing for upcoming gigs this
weekend (performing and teaching at a fiddle camp and playing klezmer for a
UU Rosh Hoshana service) and talking with everyone I know about these
events, I feel deeply committed to a vision of constant striving to be a
source of love and light with my music and actions in these times of
darkness.
