That may have been true in the past, but I think it's changing.

I think that the work we microtonalists are doing now is
slowly but surely creating a momentum that will carry it
on its own merits thru the front door, if not actually
crashing right thru the walls!

(I can picture McLaren grinning at that one, if only he were
on the List to read this.)
