pitch bend default range IS + or - 2 semitones

Thankls for all the messages confirming this.

All investigation so far seems to make this a safe assumption.
Of course what pitch actually comes out of each device and
with what accuracy is a matter best dealt with by tea leaf readers
(uh, no offense intended to any on the list...)
