Tunings for electric bass guitar?

Does anyone know of alternative tunings specifically designed
for conventional electric bass guitar, 4/5 string fretted?

I have found a number of websites devoted to standard 6 string guitars, using
alternative tunings with convential fret boards etc...but nothing for the bass.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
