It is impossible to speculate on what the tolerance for change before it meets a significant
point, and it is also possible that modulations up or down a "fifth" could have cultural meanings
we are not aware of that have been set for centuries. It seems the best method is to look at
exactly what they do. BTW do we know how far they do modulate for sure?
