If context is of interest, I'd like to outline how fingerings are chosen and
what is done to choose and retain them for repetition.

Air pressure is constant in the technique that I use which is associated with
the teachings of now retired bassoonist Stephen Maxym. It involves the
metaphor of the water faucet in that the air pressure like the water pressure
is constant. It is the fingerings that do the work, though one can change
wind velocity as needed.

One the best, or most ideal pitch is captured, it is immediately written
down. Now comes the mastering of the "resonance pocket." Here a player
finds the best shape for his mouth focusing on the inside, related to the
feeling for "yawning."

Wow, Skip LaPlante is hear so I must be off till later.
