Hi there,

I'm working on a 24-tet recorder fingering with the
idea of using it as a basis for learning to sight read
cents notation in 120-tet(and to try to interpolate
last digit as best as poss).

Here it is so far:

legend:
= quarter, half, three quarters covered
= leaking finger (= "pinched" for thumb hole)

0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 = C
0 1 2 3 4 5 6 = C+
0 1 2 3 4 5 6 = C# = Db
0 1 2 3 4 5 6 = D-
0 1 2 3 4 5 6 - = D
0 1 2 3 4 5 - = D+
0 1 2 3 4 5 - = D# = Eb
0 1 2 3 4 5 - = E-
0 1 2 3 4 5 - - = E
0 1 2 3 4 5 6 = E+
0 1 2 3 4 - 5 6 = F
0 1 2 3 4 - 5 6 = F
0 1 2 3 - 4 5 6 = F+
0 1 2 3 - 4 5 - = F# = Gb
0 1 2 3 - 4 - - = G-
0 1 2 3 - - - - = G
0 1 2 - 4 5 6 = G+
0 1 2 - 4 5 - - = G# = Ab
0 1 2 - - 5 6 - = A-
0 1 2 - - - - - = A
0 1 - 3 4 5 - - = A+
0 1 - 3 4 - - - = A# = Bb
0 1 - 3 - - - - = B-
0 1 - - - - - - = B
0 - 2 - - 5 6 7 = B+ = C'-
0 - 2 - - - - - = C'
0 - - 3 - - - - = C'+
- 1 2 - - - - - = C'# = D'b
- - 2 3 - - - - = D'-
- - 2 - - - - - = D'
- - - - - - - - = D'+
 1 2 3 4 5 - = D'# = E'b
 1 2 3 4 5 - 7 = E'-
 1 2 3 4 5 - - = E'
 1 2 3 4 - 5 = E'+ = F'-
 1 2 3 4 - 5 - = F'
 1 2 3 - 5 - 7 = F'+
 1 2 3 - 5 - - = F'# = G'b
 1 2 3 - - 6 - = G'-
 1 2 3 - - - - = G'
 1 2 - - - - = G'+
 1 2 - 4 - - - = G'# = A'b
 1 2 - - - - = A'-
 1 2 - - - - - = A'
 1 2 - 4 5 6 7 = A'+
 1 2 - 4 5 6 - = A'# = B'b
 1 2 - 4 5 - = B'-
 1 2 - 4 5 - - = B'
 1 - - 4 5 6 - = B'+ = C'-
 1 - - 4 5 - - = C'
 1 - - 4 - - = C'+
0 1 3 4 6 7 = C'# (note 1)
 1 3 4 6 7 = C''#+ = D'- (note 2)
 1 - 3 4 - 6 7 = D''
 1 - 3 - - =- D''+
 - 2 3 - 5 6 - = D''# = E''b
 - 2 3 - - 6 - = E''-
 - 2 3 - - - - = E'' (tends to be a bit flat, as it is natural major third above the C''')
 1 2 4 5 6 7 = E''+ = F''-
 - 2 3 4 5 6 7 = F''
 1 2 - 4 5 6 7 = F''+
 1 2 - 4 5 - - = F''# = G''b
 1 2 - 4 - - - = G''-
 1 - - 4 5 - - = G''
 1 - - 4 - - - = G''+
 1 - 3 4 5 6 7 = G''# = A''b
 1 - 3 - 5 6 7 = A''-
 1 - 3 - 5 6 - = A''

Note 1
0 1 3 4 6 7 = C''#
This seems an awkward fingering at first,
but I find it is reasonably usable, being
very close to the D fingering, and gives
a sweet note. However on some recorders,
transition directly from C'# to C' with
this C'# fingering can be between hard and
impossible; others manage it with ease.
Alternative fingering:
 1 - 3 4 5 6 7 can sometimes be a bit sharp.

Note 2
 1 - 3 4 6 7 = C''# = alternative D''-

Note 2
Alternate fingering
 1 2 - 4 - - - = G''-

Idea is to then learn to interpolate between
these notes by breath pressure / varying
turbulence / finger shading etc. I.e. this
just gives a basic map of the terrain.

Comments and alternate fingerings welcome!
