between the frets

While I'm waiting out the resurrection of the Practical Microtonality
list I'll put this cold storage here for anyone who might be
interested.

There's a long history of guitarist who actively strove for notes
between the frets but never undertook a conscious leap to
microtonality in the formal sense that this list exemplifies -- Jeff
Beck, Bill Frisell, and Glen Phillips to name only a few come right to
mind.

Ken Rubenstein is such a guitarist as well.

Ken's uses the warmth and inherent instability of analog guitar
synthesis, confidently nuanced use of the whammy bar, and a language
that leans heavily on Indian, Turkish and other world music influences
to achieve this end.

Should anyone be interested, I've put up a folder in the files section
for some brief excepts of Ken's playing.
