The last night of 3 will feature the premiere of "La Ribera de las Nueve
Corrientes" by Yucatan based composer German Romero. The trio (contralto,
flutes, double bass) makes liberal use of quartertones, and smaller
microtones (notated with double arrows). The text is Nezahualcoyotl 's Aztec
poetry rendered in Spanish.

John Gzowski is swinging in from Toronto with CRITICAL BAND with an
undisclosed new work. Harry Partch may be heard through his "Potion Scene"
taken from Sheakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" for soprano (Meredith Borden)
and viola (Anastasia Solberg).

Joseph Pehrson has a new one in eighthtones - "One Small Step For Man" - for
me on bassoon. Skip LaPlante has a quartet in 17-tone ET, and there is an
AFMM Quartet to play Ivan Wyschnegradsky ("Etude Ultrachromatique" in 31-ET),
Fabio Colonna ("Esempio" in 31), Portuguese Anonymous (enhanced Pythagorean),

Location for FINALE: Columbia University's St. Paul's Chapel (enter W. 116 &
B'way)
