Tuning gossip

Hi there,

I've created a new list that fills a need not met by any
of the current mircotonal lists, and one that seems
urgently needed right now.

It's called tuning_gossip.
"
A place for microtonalists to post gossip - anything
that is of momentary short term interest, or of no
interest at all for that matter, or only of interest
to a couple of other members.
"
/tuning_gossip

This isn't intended as a joke incidentally, I think it will
be useful to have a such a place for microtonalists to
gossip if so inclined (or even if they are feeling lonely
or whatever).

Probably most of those who use this group will subscribe
in no mail mode, or perhaps set up a filter to send all the messages
to a special tuning gossip folder in their e-mail browser.

Anyway, we'll see how it goes,...

I'm not saying that anything presently on this list is actually
gossip, I don't think that is quite true; nearly all the posts do
have some microtonal relevance, and it is usually quite strong.

Also the conversational tone of exchanges about microtonal matters
is inviting in its way and leads one into the topics gently,
when at its best.

But, maybe a gossip list could be of value, and by providing a place
for that happen, maybe help reduce tendency of a few of the posts
here to gradually degenerate into a kind of a gossip with rather
little in the way of content.

Such a list may well generate some real gems of microtonal wisdom
as it is sometimes when one is least focussed that some interesting
things can happen.

So the idea is to make a place where one can post the first thing
that comes to mind, and just press the send key right away, and not
worry at all about the quantity of e-mail that may be accumulating
in members' in boxes.

I imagine few will read _all_ the posts to this new list, if it takes off.
More like a list that one will look in now and again and join in whatever
are the current topics, or start a new one on anything one likes.

(I'm also subscribed to it in no mail mode, as the owner / moderator).
