standard notation

There's a saying..."Organizing musicians is like herding cats..." It
was some jazz guy, can't recall who...somehow, that relates to my
feelings about a standard for microtonal tunings. I'm sure Joseph is
right, and those heavy reading guys/girls would benefit greatly, but I
like the idea of individual notation systems. As Joe pointed out,
Reinhard's folks can do it, so, why not everybody else, too? Gonna let
that NYC group kick your butts? Also, with the state of music today, and
it's incredible range and diversity of influences, a composer may well
be served best, as to his/her intentions, by creating their own way of
communicating how they want their music played...sounds like fun, to me.
Course, I don't like to write music anyhow, so you guys go ahead and
standardize any old thing you want...best, Hstick
