Hi!

I have created a new group to allow sharing and
discussion of personal experiences that transcend
the norm as it interconnects with nonwestern
musical tuning, composition and performance.

Name of Group: Metaphysical Microtonal Music Experience

Email Address: spiritual_tuning@yahoogroups.com

To subscribe: spiritual_tuning-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

To check it out:
/spiritual_tuning/

Hope to see you there!

Metaphysical Microtonal Music Experience

This group discusses metaphysical and spiritual
aspects of microtonal music making. Please feel
free to speak from your own experiences and work
with music.

It could also be called Transcendental or
Experiential Microtonality

Some example issues:

* Yoga exercises to align and balance your
creative energy.

* Native American, Tibetan, or other ethnic Musics
that integrate Spiritual Experience with music
composition, realization and performance

* Relationship between tone, timbre, pitch,
chakras and meridians

* Earth, Universe and other nature tunings and
their effects on the person

* The creative source of inspiration - is it
solely from within ourselves, or are we
collaborating with angels, interdimensional
beings, aliens, muses, or entities from the future
or past

* Personal experiences with music that transcend
the mundane and which may thus be considered
inappropriate elsewhere

* Short musical examples are encouraged and
permitted temporarily, or may be posted to the
practicalmicrotonality group which deals much with
actual microtonal music examples

* Musical connections with all forms of faith are
encouraged - eastern, judeo-christian, hinduism,
primitive, islam, etc.

* Honesty and sharing are encouraged, including
skepticism and unfavorable though honest reviews.
But personal attacks, flames and vulgar language
are not permitted

List owner reserves the right at his sole
discretion to ban posters who bring negative
energy or darkness.

Please try to keep topics limited to work you have
done, are actually doing, or planning as regards
holistic and fully integrated microtonal music.

I think this is a great idea, and I wish you the best of luck with
the new list. This is the kind of stuff I could be very interested in
discussing and experiencing in a "live" group situation, with real
human auras intermingling. When sitting in front of a computer
screen, though, I tend to be more interested in "cold, hard
facts" . . . that's the mindset that I have to be in, anyway, most of
the time I'm in front of the computer. I suppose I've
compartmentalized my personality somewhat. So I think I'll pass on
joining your list for now, though I'd love to join in any "live"
activities that may be associated with it, and listen to music and
view artwork that comes about as a result of your new list. So
please, keep me informed!
