Lattice vs "lettuce" :o)

Hello alternative tuneing brethren!!!!!!

I don't want to appear stupid, or to make an idiot of myself, but I feel
that I must ask you people:

"What exactly IS a lattice".

A good friend of mine in New Zealand, called Alan Wells, has every
Xenharmonicon ever published, and I have read about them and seen the diagrams.

Actually, the XHs are AMAZINGLY interesting journals, and I wish to
congratulate John Chalmers on his brilliant work.

I know they have something to do with raised surface points in 3D space and
beyoud, and I know, and understand completely what is ment by
"hyper-dimensional", but what do the numbers actually STAND for?

Can some one explain in depth, and quote examples?

What really got me interested, was the talk about "wormholes" in Euclidean
space, and I'm woundering if these have any parallel, or analogy, however
indirect, esoeric and weak as to be compared to the space time continueum,
black holes and quantum-reletivistic-chaos?

I am also fasinated as to the propertys of the geometry of these lattices,
angles, distortions, manipulations, and squares, hexes, octagon/square
lattice, and also mabey even an application of "Penrose tileings" having an
overlapping 5/10 fold quasi-symmetry, (crystals of the like used in
non-stick cooking pans, as read in New Scientist last month).

Actually, I would have asked this sooner, and reviewed the earlier posts,
but I have been SO mind numbingly incredibly busy it's just not even funny.

Finally, whilst it is certainly not my intention to insult anyone, or bring
bad feelings to the list in any way, I have to state here that E-Mail is a
VERY limited medium in some ways for expressing ideas, feelings, emotions,
body language, and related iterations of such.....

There is just SO MUCH that is, in a lot of ways deficient for conveying what
we ACTUALLY MEAN, and how WE ACTUALLY MEAN IT, and also how we react, in
both directions!!!!!!!!!!

For example-I really don't know if someone is being sarcastic, taking the
P*** out of me, agreeing and being friendly and jovial, "acting the goat",
and it is very difficult to know exactly how to react to E-Mails.

Combine this with a past of social inadequacy in a New Zealand collage (aka
Highschool), and well?.......

Inadvertently, I may have insulted some people on the list, in the past,
but......

=======I CERTAINLY DID, AND DO NOT MEAN TO DO SO IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR
FORM=========

It is not in my nature to be offensive, abrasive, or obnoxious, and if we
TRUELY really knew each other, and met each other in person, then almost
certainly, our perceptions and opinions of each other would be completely
different from what they are now-and I would very definitely say the
opinions would change for the better!

Anyhow, it is good to see that you are all thinking, and I do so hope to
correspond with all of you in the future!
