Hi Kraig,

I've been exploring one of the hexanies today.

Just been finding each of the diads in turn, and
the two triads joining to each one.

In fact, that four note chord also can make an interesting
dissonance to, if you approach the notes in the right
order - so one hears it as two triads stacked together.

Also had a go finding one of the squares, after
reading your posts. Not easy to find for a beginner!

I tried finding one of the diads, then the
two consonant triads that link to it, then the other two
notes are the ones for the square, and the ones that are
consonant with them are the ones that link to the two
ends of the diad.

Robert!
Each dyad occurs twice and if you take this pair, you have what makes up a square. or the sets
AB AC
BD CD

AB AD
BC CD

AC AD
BC BD

Hopefully Erv will let me put up some of his Hexany diagrams soon!

I also have gotten good things out of taking 3 dyads in a row and using these as in
[AB AC] [AD CD] [ BD BC] the other possibility being
[BC AB] [AC AD] [CD BD}
