> Hi folks

i have a recent different approach to Micro/Just composition
I have recently been using the Well Tempered Fractal program that generates
a choice of ten fractals with a few assorted
music shaping tools which plots a small portion of the points which then
creates a text file. The text file is then converted to
midi with the T2mf converter available at the Csound front page(Thanks Dante
Rosati)> It is the placed it whatever midi
sequencer you choose(Cakewalk etc..) and then I run the result through the
Microtonal midi synth for exciting basis
for Just/Extended Eq Temp Natural tuning compositions.
The program was created by Robert Greenhouse in 1993-so this may be very old
Chix salad for a few of you all.
But I am finding it rather exciting for a different beginning to
compositions.
The program called Music in the numbers by Lars Kindermann has also recently
been generating some wonderful random
Just compositions a LaMonte--one in particular---I choose eight
trumpets, using both the Well tuned piano scale and the
Scale called Pre-tortoise dream music=the first available in scala the
latter from the Sound and Light book and choose only
G,C,C# and D for an awesome extended drone piece in Natural Tuning. The G at
4/3 below,C=1/1,C#=441/256 and then
17/16 and the D at ole 9/8.
I am adopting Natural Tuning via Iannis Xennakis book, formalized music.
Resonate and Extenuate
Dante any clues on getting started in Csound??
