This isn't so new.

In fact languages like this exist especially optimized for music:

MAX/MSP (expensive, for MAcs, well-documented, stable)
Pd (free, for PC/Linux, not-so-well-documented, unstable (from what I
hear))

They're a lot of fun.

Very easy to rig up tuning stuff of any nature in no time.

Well, almost any nature.

maybe sarn wants to write his own GUI for sound??
I think that Paul Konnces PVC scripts are begging for a nice GUI
