Need a mandolin fretboard

Hi, folks,

Those of you who know some luthiers, does anyone know one that can
send out (in the mail, well packed) a mandolin fretboard? I have a
nice old mandolin that I'm trying to get repaired, and the repairman
doesn't want to fix the broken nexck because he is afraid that he
will break the old fretboard, which is already cracked. And there is
no place to replace the fretboard in Hong Kong ...

Sorry, this is not a tuning question, I just want a plain old normal
fretboard.

Many thanks.

Lydia Ayers

Hi Lydia,

Are you familiar with Stewart-MacDonald? They have a catalog of parts and
supplies for luthiers including fingerboard blanks. I don't know what the
shipping would be to Hong Kong, but I've always had good experiences dealing
with them in the USA. I don't have a catalog handy, I'd guess you could find
them with google or another search engine.

Best of luck

Seth
