Trumpets

I�ve been doing some investigation together with a trumpet player...is it possible that modern trumpets are made so that the 7th harmonic is near impossible to play?Also,i�m interested in doing simple modifications of the valves and tubes to get different(not necesarrily more)picthes from them...has anything been done with this before?
