Thanks Bill and Vania. I stand corrected on my continuous vs discrete
statement. However, Manuel please note, it is still clear that "Minkowski"
is not a synonym for "taxicab"/"city-block".

The Minkowski distance you explained in an earlier post is indeed a
different
one. But the "city-block" or "Manhattan distance" is often, rightly or
wrongly,
called the Minkowski first-order metric. So to avoid confusion I won't use
the
term and change it to city-block.
