Paint-by-numbers

Obviously there is much need to do experimeting to get a real live drummer
sound from a drum machine, I guess it would have to be a
paint-by-the-numbers thing.

I haven't had the on hand experience with drum machine programmeing to know
exactly how close you could get to a live drummer, -I'd say reasonably
close, but the human element, the hands on, watch-it-live element will never
go out, or become obsolete in my opinion.

Sampling, in my opinion also, gives us quite a "bang for the buck", you can
do a lot with a sampler, it ain't perfect, but its OK by me.

I checked out CAKEWALK and it seemed like a pretty handy tool, and I guess
the use of this humanization algorithm, and also manipulateing tempos, and
offsetting beats, and pressures manually would give us a reasonable feel to
drum lines.

I wanted to thank you for all the feedback on this question of humanization,
I got a lot more than I bargained for.

Food for thought.
