Thanks to both Paul Erlich and Kees van Prooijen for their responses
concerning the Bohlen-Pierce scale. They were very valuable to me.

I'm glad to hear the derivation was a bit "ideosyncratic," since I
wasn't quite following it...

And I was happy to be reminded about the "periodicity blocks" again.

As somebody who periodically forgets everything, this reminder was
especially appropoo, as Shreeswifty would say...
