Hello all
While searching for a microtonal capable controller for my synths , I saw Lipold Haken's Continuum Fingerboard.
Has any of you experience playing the instrument?
It seems to be the most expressive electronic keyboard-like instrument ever created .
I was wondering if it is actually playable or a just a good crazy idea.
I mean playable by a musician with trained ears and good piano technique.
Do you think two dimensional keyboards are more playable?

Hello Alexandros and All,

I suppose one could add a grid perhaps
color coded on top if discrete notes
are desired.

Because I lack the ear training I prefer
discrete notes, tapping on keys.

I must admit that for the right person
with a good ear this will be great.

I had done some research on using a large,
19" or larger monitor with a velocity
sensitive touch surface. The monitor
would be mounted so that it faced up.

The great advantage for such a keyboard
is that it can be continuous or discrete.
Any grid or key pattern can be programming
So it is microtuning capable. The possibilities
would be endless.

Back to the real world! The technology at
present can only recognize one finger
touch art a time! Sorry to disappoint
any one.
