With the recent talk about generalized keyboards, I thought
it a good time to direct those who have forgotten or never
knew, to the enharmonic organ page at
http://www.hansandrestamm.de/enharmen.htm.
There are some intriguing sound clips there, and
here:http://www.hansandrestamm.de/enhcompe.htm as well.

Greetings!

Do any of you have any experiences with or thoughts about our
generalized keyboard options. Examples of what I'm talking about
include the Starr Labs products, the white keys of two abutted
keyboards, etc.

Thanks!

Yes, many of us do. I personally am holding out for Paul
Vandervoort's keyboard, about which nothing is available except
talking to me, Paul, or reading his patents.

Unless the AFMM project beats him to the punch. I had some
very promising discussions with its designer, Dylan Horvath, that
convinced me he knows what he's doing. Unfortunately (or
fortunately, depending on your point of view), the design of the
keys has been dictated by Siemen Terpstra.

The Starr Labs 'board is certainly worth a shot if you have
lots of money lying around. But it's not close enough to what
I want for me to justify the expense.

The archives of this list and the makemicromusic list are full
of discussions on keyboards.

What are your thoughts?

-Carl

Sorry, this was not intended for the list. I regularly forward pertinent
posts to Dylan, the builder of the Terpstra keyboard. Johnny
